THE FIRST FRONTIER
On October 7th, tragedy struck Nahal Oz, a Kibbutz located just half a mile from Gaza, making it a front-line community in the ongoing conflict. Living so close to the border brings unique challenges and experiences that shape our daily lives.
As a "Kibbutz Tzmood Gader" (Kibbutz near the border), our community is constantly aware of the tensions that surround us, prompting a heightened sense of vigilance.
Over the years, Nahal Oz has faced numerous trials, but the bonds of solidarity among residents have always been our greatest strength. The constant threat of conflict means that our lives are often punctuated by sirens, rapid evacuations, and a persistent awareness of danger. Yet, within this environment, we have cultivated a resilient spirit, leaning on one another for support and comfort.
The recent events have had a profound impact on our community, with homes destroyed and families fractured. As we work to rebuild, it’s essential to renew and strengthen the ties that hold us together.
