The Dairy Farm

The Dairy Farm
A major economic engine

The western Negev produces 6.5% of Israel's dairy, despite accounting for only ~2% of the country’s dairy farms, with major contribution to Israel’s food security.  To help rebuild the western Negev’s farming communities in the wake of October 7th, the Israeli government has significantly increased the quotas of milk which can be sold by the region’s dairy farms.

Kibbutz Nahal Oz is now able to increase its milk production by 19%, which is a game changer for our small farming community.

Our plan: The aim is to restore and expand the farm to boost its contribution to the kibbutz’s financial resilience. The project involves re-building and expanding the farm’s protective shed and infrastructure, building new cow shelters, calf barns, introducing a state-of-the-art robotic feed center, feeding alleys and a calving hall. It will be done in two major phases of development over the next two years.
